The interim government, despite coming to power over the corpses of the students-mass people,
had not taken any effective measures to rebuild the fragile economy left behind by the fallen Hasina
regime. Rather, at the last moment, it signed the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade (ART) with the
United States, putting the country's economic sovereignty under risk.
The BNP government has passed a budget of Taka 9380 billion, promising economic recovery,
inflation control, employment generation, and public welfare. However, the reality is that compared
to previous budgets, this budget reflects no structural change beyond numerical differences. In
particular, the imperialist debt trap and exploitative VAT-Tax based revenue structure remain
essentially unchanged.
In this context, this conference will present an outline of an Islamic budget aimed at establishing a
self-reliant economy and serving the interests of the people.
Allah (ﷻ) Says “...So that wealth does not merely circulate among the rich among you [Surah
Hashr: 07]
