تعليقاتOn Sunday 6th June, a Muslim family in London, Ontario, Canada was murdered in a horrific terror attack by a driver who deliberately mowed them down in a truck, killing 4 members of the family, including a grandmother and 15 year old teenage girl. A 9 year old boy was also seriously injured. The police stated that the “victims were targeted because of their Muslim faith.” The attack comes amongst a rising wave of Islamophobia and hate-crimes against Muslims in Canada as well as in other western states, of which Muslim women are often frontline targets due to their Islamic dress. This discussion seeks to understand what is driving this significant rise in anti-Muslim attacks in many western states, and whether there is an alternative approach and system that can create harmony between those of different religious faiths.
